ZICTA PICKS 60 FOR 2021 COHORT ICT INNOVATION PROGRAMME

THE Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) has announced the selection of the top sixty (60) finalists for the 2021 Cohort of the ZICTA ICT Innovation Programme.

ZICTA, in conjunction with its strategic partners, made the announcement following an invitation that was extended by the Authority to interested youths across the country aged between 18 and 35 years.

The call was for the submission of applications highlighting their innovations that leverage ICT platforms to respond to various social and economic needs in the country.

A total of 458 applications from across the different targeted categories were received by the Authority for consideration.

The applications were evaluated by an independent team of experts drawn from diverse organisations that support innovation and entrepreneurship.

The attributes that were considered during the evaluation included innovativeness, commercial viability, technical feasibility and the social impact of the innovations.

“The Authority wishes to express its gratitude to all the applicants for the overwhelming response and the interest shown in the programme,” the statement notes.
