THE Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) has launched the 2020 ICT Innovation Programme, with the disclosure that this year’s successful innovators will be awarded financial support of up to K100, 000 towards commercialisation of their projects.
The programme which is being implemented in partnership with Airtel Zambia Limited is open to Zambian ICT related innovators or start-up entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 35 years
Participating candidates should have innovative, viable and scalable business ventures that attempt to solve current challenges relating to the following sectors of the economy.
ZICTA has since congratulated all the candidates that have been selected to participate in the 2020 ZICTA ICT Innovation Programme.
According to ZICTA selected candidates, whose projects have been selected based on Innovativeness, Business potential, Technical Feasibility, Likelihood of Success and Social impact, will undergo business and technical development support over the next six months to develop their projects into viable business ventures.
“From these 60 innovators who were assessed and selected by an independent panel of experts, five successful candidates shall later be awarded financial support of up to K100,000 towards the commercialisation of their projects. We look forward to an exciting six months working with the selected candidates,” indicates ZICTA.
The 2020 Innovation Programme will run for a maximum duration of six months from August 2020 to February 2021.
Expected Benefits include business development support services, technical development support, access to free working space complimented with internet, connectivity, computers, test devices and other office equipment.
