THE Cashew Infrastructure Development Project (CIDP) in Western Province has achieved commendable results towards improving the quality of lives for people in the region.
The observation was made by the Ministry of National Development Permanent Secretary in charge of Development Cooperation, Monitoring and Evaluation Trevor Kaunda.
Mr Kaunda recently visited farmers in Mongu, Sioma and Senanga.
The project, which ends this year, has seen thousands of farmers in Mongu, Sioma and Senanga plant early maturing cashew plants while some farmers have already started harvesting for sale.
All schools in the most district have planted cashew trees as part of an income generation project in Schools.
The Ministry of Agriculture which is the host will continue supporting farmers in the project.
