STUDY Connect Zambia will be running a Kids MBA program in Lusaka both physically and virtually.
The programme rolls out in December for children between the ages of 11 and 15 through fun games and role play activities.
Speaking during an interview, Mulemwa Mongwa, a representative from German Savings Bank Foundation for International Corporation (SBFIC), a partner in this program. said the Kids MBA is a program that has been developed and endorsed by the Association of Business Executive and it is the first of its kind in Zambia with an aim to teach children how to develop businesses and enterprises and everything in between.
She said that the Kids MBA is a program that has been designed to introduce children to core, essential skills for running a business.
They will also learn how to take up risks in the hope of making profits for their future business among other things she said.
“The program will further support, mentor and equip children with the necessary business skills that will set them on the right path of becoming excellent future entrepreneurs, “she said.
She said that the changing structure of work and trade in emerging economies such as Zambia implies that today’s younger generation must recalibrate their employment expectations.
She added that the economic growth will depend on the extent to which high impact entrepreneurships can generate jobs growth and commercialize innovation at scale.
“Teaching young children business ideas at a tender age will help them know the right direction to take when it comes to making the right decisions concerning business or what career path to take up, “she stated.
