THE second batch of COVID-19 funds received from FIFA has been disbursed by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to respective recipients.
This follows the first batch of the US$1 million that was disbursed in August 2019 with the second batch lined up for January this year.
FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala disclosed that Football House has disbursed the resources to all the Super League and National Division One clubs as promised.
“We have completed the disbursement of the FIFA COVID-19 relief funds with all the clubs across divisions receiving their entitlement,” Mr Kashala said.
Zanis reports that during the disbursement of the first-batch in August 2019, FAZ announced that it was going to give Super League teams US$15, 000 with $10, 000 released then.
National Division One teams received an allocation of US$7, 500 and received $5, 000.
He said FAZ has disbursed the final part of the clubs’ entitlement with lower division clubs having received their total entitlement in the first round of disbursement.
Kashala said clubs should be wary of the manner they use COVID-19 funds as the World Football governing body expected the resources to be used strictly for relief.
He said Football House had made the disbursement public in keeping with its mantra of transparency.
