THE Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia has disclosed that it projects to produce over 23,000 metric tonnes of fertilizer during the 2021/2022 farming season.
NCZ Chief Executive Officer William Mwale also revealed that the fertilizer manufacturing company has so far produced 17 thousand metric tons of D compound fertilizer.
He added that 10,000mt of D compound is meant for the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) while 7,000 is destined to the open market.
The D-compound fertilizer will be distributed to four districts in Lusaka Province which is Lusaka, Chilanga, Chongwe and Kafue.
“The company has a target of producing 23 thousand metric tons of fertilizer before the end of this year,” Mr Mwale said.
