MOBILE ISSUANCE OF NRCS EXTENDED

THE ongoing issuance of National Registration Cards (NRC), which was scheduled to end today, 10th September, has been extended by 10 days.

The exercise will now end on 19th September, 2020.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs sources, the extension was necessitated by logistical challenges in the delivery of some equipment used in the exercise due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

The Ministry further stated that the move to extend the exercise is aimed at allowing the smooth running of the exercise as well as give adequate time to people in the affected areas to acquire the NRC’s.

Currently the Ministry is conducting phase one of the mobile issuance of NRCs in five provinces namely Northern, Luapula, Eastern, North Western and Copperbelt Provinces.

The second phase will commence on 20th September, 2020, it will run for forty days.
