KANSANSHI Mine says it spent an estimated US$2.51 million (slightly over K55 million) on cooperate social responsibility (CSR) in 2020.
Mine Public Relations manager Godfrey Msiska disclosed in statement in Solwezi yesterday.
The funds were used on projects such as road works, school radio programs, school feeding programs, bursaries, desks for local schools and conservation farming programme, among others.
The highest amount went to training and development, which includes tertiary education under the Kwambula program, secondary school bursaries and provision of school fees and uniforms for vulnerable children, among others.
The roads which were worked on include Trident school and Kabitaka roads at an amount of US$301,184.
