THE Consumer Unity Trust Society (CUTS) in partnership with the Lusaka City Council (LCC) has virtually rolled out the “Lusaka Food Security Initiative”, a Policy document that highlights the challenges in the food system and provides solutions through its operational plan.
Stakeholders like Hivos Regional Office Southern Africa and Zambia Metrology Agency were part of the online launch of the Policy document.
Council Town Clerk Alex Mwansa said that the virtual launch of the Policy document comes at such an opportune time when there is a strong need for food policy.
In the wake of the COVID-19 and the threat it has posed on the food sector, the Food policy is key in building a resilient food system.
CUTS is also pleased to have been part of creating a structure for the food system in Lusaka.
This project is supported by Hivos under the Sustainable Diets for All program.
