STANBIC Bank Zambia, Honorary Life Member Sharad Nayee has said that digital banking services have made people’s life easier by reducing transaction costs and improving payment systems.
Mr Nayee, former Kitwe Chamber of Commerce and Industry President said new banking technological innovations are welcome because they allow customers to operate their accounts anytime and anywhere.
“We welcome the new digital banking solutions, they have made life a lot easier . In fact I don’t have to visit the bank as often as I used to do before. A lot of work can now be done online.
I have to be honest sometimes it has proved to be a challenge to shift to digital banking innovation. But if one can take the trouble to embrace this technology, then it is a welcome move,” Mr Nayee explained.
Globally, financial institutions, including banks have adopted digital technology to serve customers and reduce on operational cost to minimal levels.
He further explained that new advanced banking technologies such as virtual wallets (e-wallets) and carless automated teller machine (ATM) allows customers to conduct transactions without stepping into a branch.
