BOZ, NGO EMPOWERS FEMALE INMATES WITH POULTRY SKILLS

THE Bank of Zambia (BoZ) has partnered with the Restorative Justice for Women’s Association to empower female inmates and ex-inmates at Kabwe Female Maximum Correctional Facility in Kabwe.

Speaking during the donation ceremony BoZ Deputy Governor Rheka Mhango said the partnership is aimed at empowering over 100 women with poultry farming skills.

She said that the project will lend support to the prosperity and growth of the nation.

“This project has been made under the Bank’s community Involvement policy, through its strategic role it can positively impact a variety of worthy causes, “she said.

And Deputy Regional Commanding Officer Manifold Chishimba said the donation will boost the poultry initiative’s productivity.

He said that the collaboration will also boost the facility’s income and also improve their eating diets.

“500 chicks, starter feed, grower fed, finisher, vaccines are among the products that have been given, “he said.
